Founded in 2007, Ownaship is New Zealand’s original boat share company, making premium boating accessible without the full cost and hassle of sole ownership. We manage a fleet of over 30 high-quality vessels and support 200+ shareholders with a true walk-on, walk-off experience. Everything from cleaning, maintenance and insurance is taken care of by our expert team. Our fleet features trusted brands including Maritimo, Rayglass, Elite AT43, and Fountaine Pajot. With nearly 20 years of experience and a focus on seamless service, we make boating effortless.

Simon Barker
Owner / Director
Simon joined Ownaship in 2009 as one of its first shareholders and later bought the business, driven by his belief in the model. With a background in banking, he now leads as Managing Director, known for his strong relationships, positivity, and hands-on approach.
Miles Petersen
Operations Manager
Miles oversees fleet operations at Ownaship, bringing marine engineering expertise and experience from working with Emirates Team New Zealand. Known for his work ethic and people skills, he’s also an avid camper, four-wheel driver, and fisherman.
Andre Strez
Fleet Manager
Andre, a lifelong waterman with a marine science background, brings over a decade of superyacht experience and six years as head skipper with the NZ Sailing Trust. He now shares his expertise at Ownaship while enjoying family life, diving, fishing, and sailing.
Melanie Webster
Sale Manager
Since joining Ownaship in 2016, Mel has taken on a variety of roles, drawing on her background in superyachting, management, and marketing. Whether it’s helping the ops team at the marina, handling marketing, or selling shares, she’s always hands-on and adaptable.
Krystal-Jane Mosley
Project Manager
As Project Manager, Krystal-Jane supports business development and customer relations, drawing on her background in private equity and startups. She’s known for her energy, charm, and sense of humour
Michelle Davis
Office Manager
Michelle keeps operations running smoothly, backed by 20+ years in finance admin and experience as a business owner in health and wellness. Outside work, she stays busy with family, art, and dance.
Maddy Newberry
Operations Support/Marketing Manager
Maddy first joined Ownaship’s Operations team in 2021. After some time away travelling, she returned in 2024 and now works alongside Miles and Andre. She’s also taken on the role of Marketing Manager. Outside of work, Maddy enjoys art, swimming, and the odd glass of red wine.
